The Nigerian basketball team is managed by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). The Nigerian basketball team is very strong and it is one of the best national basketball teams in the FIBA Africa zone. Nigeria has been ranked 16th in the FIBA World Rankings.
Nigeria is the only African country to ever qualify for the Summer Olympics and FIBA World Olympic Tournament. Nigeria beat Lithuania and Greece. In 2015, Nigeria won its first crown as basketball champion of Africa.
Nigeria Basketball team is in the Group B of Fiba 2019 Championship in which total 6 matches is to be played & 3 matches will be played by each team in the group stages. The other 3 teams are Russia, Argentina & South Korea.

History Of Nigeria Basketball Team
The history of basketball in Nigeria is too old. It was all started in 1950. Walid Zabadne has been deemed father of Nigerian basketball and now he made the president of the Nigerian basketball federation.
Nigeria’s national basketball team joined FIBA in 1964. A team dominated by Nigerian-Americans qualified for the 2006 FIBA World Cup. Nigeria also qualified to the 2012 Summer Olympics. Nigeria took part in the FIBA World Championship 2006 in Japan.
